Our Preschool Program at Little Harvard Daycare is designed for children ages 3 to 6 as they grow in independence, curiosity, and early academic skills. This stage marks an exciting transition where play and intentional learning come together to build confidence and prepare children for school.
We focus on creating a rich learning environment where children explore ideas, build relationships, and develop important skills at their own pace. Teachers guide learning through engaging, hands-on activities that support each child’s strengths and interests.
Here’s what children experience in our preschool classroom:
Early Literacy and Language
Through stories, word play, conversations, and group discussions, children develop vocabulary, listening skills, and the foundations of reading and writing.
Math and Critical Thinking
Children explore counting, patterns, sorting, shapes, and simple problem-solving activities that promote early math understanding and logical thinking.
Science and Discovery
Curiosity is encouraged through exploration of nature, simple experiments, and investigation of the world around them.
Creative Arts and Expression
Art, music, movement, and dramatic play help children express themselves, build creativity, and strengthen coordination.
Social and Emotional Growth
Group activities support cooperation, empathy, self-regulation, and positive peer relationships. Teachers help children navigate social situations and build confidence in their abilities.
Play-Based Learning
Play remains central to our preschool day. Through guided and free play, children practice new skills, make choices, and enjoy meaningful interactions with classmates.
Our Preschool Program builds a strong foundation for future learning by blending joyful experiences with essential readiness skills, preparing children to thrive academically and socially.
